ROMANOVICH £41 MILLION FOR ETO'O
BARCELONA star Samuel Eto'o last night claimed Chelsea have offered an amazing £41MILLION to sign him.
Just three days before the clubs meet in the Champions League, Eto'o (below) revealed: "I find myself with presidents who are crazy, ready to pay ridiculous sums for me. I mean, £41m from Chelsea? Why so much? I don't know."
Eto'o vowed to ignore Chelsea and plans to bury Jose Mourinho's side at Stamford Beidge on Wednesday.
"I love football but there are things that mean more to me.
"If I had the kind of money that people are prepared to pay I would be able to rebuild the whole of Africa.
"My concentration is purely on scoring goals for my club and getting us through to the next round of the Champions League."
Eto'o is a long-term target of Mourinho who is desperate to sign a world class striker at the end of the season. Chelsea have all but wrapped up the Premiership title already but Hernan Crespo's future remains uncertain leaving Didier Drogba as the club's main hitman.
The Barca man insists no amount of money will force him from the Nou Camp though.
He said: "If you want to become a footballer just to earn millions then you will never make it, in my opinion. I never imagined that a club would try and pay so much for Samuel Eto'o and I don't let it affect me.
"The only thing that matters, my real pride, is being able to say that my parents are proud of me. Not money.
"The whole of Cameroon have become Barcelona fans, I see them in the streets wearing the red and blue and it makes me happy.
"It makes me want to continue doing my best for this team."
